I am an evolutionary biologist working in population genetics and genomics, biometry and bioethics.

My research interests are in evolutionary biology, population genetics and genomics, biometry and bioethics. My primary research interests are on natural selection, adaptation and speciation.

I do research on various organisms appropriate for the questions. They are humans, birds, the Arctic skua (Stercorarius parasiticus) in particular, land snails (Cepaea hortensis), fruit flies (Drosophila pseudoobscura and D. melanogaster), worms (Ceanorhabditis elegans), yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae), rotifers, and various marine organisms, in particular Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) and related cod-fish. At present my research is focused on life in extreme environments, inference based on multiple-merger coalescent, and population genomics of selection and speciation among cod-fish.
