Career

During my doctoral work; 1993-1998, I worked as an assistant teacher in ethics at the Faculty of Theology at Uppsala University. After defending my doctoral thesis I was employed as a lecturer in ethics at that same department and held that position for two and a half year. Apart from teaching ethics I taught courses  in systemic theology and philosophy of religion. 2001-2008 I was an independent scholar at the Reykjavik Academy in Reykjavík , during that time also a part time teacher at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Iceland.

September 2008 I attained the position of assistant professor at that same faculty, rising to the title of associate professor the following year (2009).

From July 2014 I am a full Professor.

From 2010 - 2014 I was head of the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies.
