Four of our students presented their studies.<\/p>\n<p>Ruhila Goswami gave her poster <b>Diversity in craniofacial elements by populations in salmonids of Iceland. <\/b>She won best student poster.<\/p>\n<p>Andreas talked about\u00a0<strong>Ants in Icelandic Geothermal Areas. <\/strong>He is wrapping up his M.Sc. thesis these weeks and will graduate in October 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Kenedy Williams reported on her analyses of <strong>Feeding Element Specialization in Polymorphic Arctic Charr. <\/strong>She won an explorer grand from the Icelandic Biological society some weeks ago, for project <a href=\"https:\/\/biologia.is\/um-felagid\/styrktarsjodur\/verkefni\/\">on where the charr go when rivers warm<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Gu\u00f0bj\u00f6rg presented her new thesis chapter, on <strong>Divergence of functional phenotypes in feeding elements of Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus) along the benthic \u2013 pelagic axis.<\/strong> She won the best student talk prize.<\/p>\n<p>Im very proud of them all.<a href=\"https:\/\/uni.hi.is\/apalsson\/files\/2021\/09\/charr_LB_pic2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-968\" src=\"https:\/\/uni.hi.is\/apalsson\/files\/2021\/09\/charr_LB_pic2-300x196.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"196\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uni.hi.is\/apalsson\/files\/2021\/09\/charr_LB_pic2-300x196.jpg 300w, https:\/\/uni.hi.is\/apalsson\/files\/2021\/09\/charr_LB_pic2-768x502.jpg 768w, https:\/\/uni.hi.is\/apalsson\/files\/2021\/09\/charr_LB_pic2.jpg 838w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last Friday the Annual ecology conference in Iceland took place, in Keldnaholt Reykjav\u00edk.
