I also lecture on Iceland's European policy at the Faculty.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><span style=\"line-height: 24px\">In recent years I have asked students not to use computers in the classroom. We use what I choose to call the Socratic method in teaching, i.e. focus on debates and communication in the classroom. In my view the computers distract the students from the actual learning that takes place in the class and by getting rid of the computers the classroom becomes a more stimulating environment for studying and learning.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Founded and taught numerous courses at the Summer School on Small States in Europe at the Centre for Small State Studies in Reykjavik (supported by Erasmus), since 2003. The\u00a0Small States Summer School\u00a0at the University of Iceland\u2018s Institute of International Affairs is among ten projects that received the Erasmus+ Quality Award in 2015. The award was for\u00a0innovation and novelty in education, contribution to the participation of diverse groups in international collaboration, and influence on education in both individual institutions as well as the educational system as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>Taught courses on the Nordic states' domestic and foreign affairs, Comparative politics, the\u00a0Icelandic political system, Iceland's foreign policy, Globalization and the\u00a0Nordic states.<\/p>\n<p>Lecturer on the Nordic states' domestic and foreign affairs at MA programme in international affairs at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lka.lt\/en\/homepage.html\">the Military Academy of Lithuania<\/a>, Vilnius.<\/p>\n<p>Visiting professor of International Studies at Williams College (MA, USA), fall semester 2013, teaching two courses: '<a href=\"http:\/\/catalog.williams.edu\/catalog.php?strm=1141&amp;subj=INST&amp;cn=101&amp;sctn=01&amp;crsid=019744\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Small States in the International System: Opportunities and Challenges<\/a>' and '<a href=\"http:\/\/catalog.williams.edu\/catalog.php?strm=1141&amp;subj=INST&amp;cn=225&amp;sctn=01&amp;crsid=019745\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The European Union: The Past, Present, and Future<\/a>'.<\/p>\n<p>Vilnius University (Lithuania).
