The structure of hyaloclastite mountains studied with palaeomagnetism<\/span><\/h1>\n

The main idea of the MS thesis is to do magnetic measurements in hyaloclastite mountains, both in the pillow lava in the base of the mountain and also in the lava field and lava delta on top of the mountain.\u00a0 With difference of paleo inclination and declination measured it can be possible to tell about how long time the formation of the mountain took place.<\/p>\n

For pilot work I did measurement in pillow lava in Undirhl\u00ed\u00f0ar ridge on Reykjanes peninsula but the main research field is supposed to be Hl\u00f6\u00f0ufell south of glacier Langj\u00f6kull.<\/p>\n

Field work started in spring 2014 at Undirhl\u00ed\u00f0ar and was done in May to July.<\/p>\n

Field work began in july 2014 at Hl\u00f6\u00f0ufell. Since then two accidents injuries has affected the work. Broken shoulder in end of July made field work more or less stop for rest of the summer.\u00a0 In January 2015 a badly broken leg will perhaps keep me from all serious field work for a part of the summer in year 2015.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
