Hekla was suspected but at least I was not sure and Hekla 3 and Hekla 4 was assumed possible.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/uni.hi.is\/ers12\/files\/2014\/02\/opna-a-fjallabaki.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-151 alignright\" title=\"Map showing the outcrop marked as &quot;Opna&quot;.\" alt=\"Map showing the outcrop marked as &quot;Opna&quot;.\" src=\"http:\/\/uni.hi.is\/ers12\/files\/2014\/02\/opna-a-fjallabaki-300x147.jpg\" width=\"240\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>After some discussion it became clear it is from Hekla but not from Hekla 3 and Hekla 4 but layers referred to as Hekla X and Hekla Y and belove them should be the layer Hekla Z a thicker layer but not visible or present for some reason in this outcrop.\u00a0 Those layers are from rather small eruptions in Hekla dated in the period 1850 \u2013 2800 BP <sup>1<\/sup>. and looking very similar to those layers investigated by Meara (2012) at Helliskv\u00edsl.<\/p>\n<p>-----------<br \/>Referecnes<\/p>\n<p>1. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.era.lib.ed.ac.uk\/handle\/1842\/5834\">Rhian Hedd Meara, 2012<\/a>.
