The official visiting address is: Bjargargata 1, 102 Reykjavik. (<strong>Update 2025:<\/strong> As the street name Bjargargata is phonetically to similar  to the already existing street name Bjarkargata, it will sooner or later be renamed to Krist\u00ednargata.) Inside the building, take either the stairway A or B -- stairway B is closest to us. The rooms most relevant to visitors are: the big teaching room <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ada_Lovelace\">Ada<\/a> is GR-321, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alan_Turing\">Alan Turing<\/a> is honored by meeting room Alan in GR-310, and meeting room <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Charles_Babbage\">Charles<\/a>   has number GR-326.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hi.is\/haskolinn\/groska\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hi.is\/sites\/default\/files\/jonsig\/Myndir\/yfirlitsmynd_-_groska_3._haed.png\" alt=\"Floor plan of the Computer Science department\" width=\"670\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2624\"><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nI am located in room 306.<\/em> The phone numbers are now routed via MS Teams that I am not going to install on my Linux system: rather call me on my provided mobile phone number.<\/p>\n<p>In the beginning, we were lacking furniture for visitors: I had to build our own chairs out of cardboard, e.g.: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wikihow.com\/Build-a-Cardboard-Stool\">https:\/\/www.wikihow.com\/Build-a-Cardboard-Stool<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hometalk.com\/diy\/decorate\/rooms\/diy-cardboard-stool-looks-like-wood-31556361?expand_all_questions=1\">https:\/\/www.hometalk.com\/diy\/decorate\/rooms\/diy-cardboard-stool-looks-like-wood-31556361?expand_all_questions=1<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nIn the meantime, we got visitor chairs and some other visitor:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/uni.hi.is\/helmut\/files\/2021\/08\/parrot-538x670.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"538\" height=\"670\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2717\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uni.hi.is\/helmut\/files\/2021\/08\/parrot-538x670.jpg 538w, https:\/\/uni.hi.is\/helmut\/files\/2021\/08\/parrot-120x150.jpg 120w, https:\/\/uni.hi.is\/helmut\/files\/2021\/08\/parrot.jpg 738w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 538px) 100vw, 538px\" \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nIn addition to a bicycle storage room for employees, there are also EV chargers. (Now, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.e1.is\">e1<\/a> is taking care of billing, but initially an RFID card from <a href=\"https:\/\/bilahledslan.is\/saekja-um-hledslulykil\/\">B\u00edlahle\u00f0slan<\/a> was needed -- they used the IT infrastructure from <a href=\"https:\/\/bilahledslan.everon.io\">Everon<\/a> and some of the involved registration emails are prone to be deleted by spam filters.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Computer Science department has moved to the new Gr\u00f3ska building (between Askja building and the DeCode Genetics building -- probably, most people know it, because there is a gym on the ground floor and CCP is located there).
