I completed my BA in International Affairs from Lewis &amp; Clark College in Portland, Oregon; an MA in International Relations from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles; and a PhD from University College Cork, Ireland. I have also completed post-graduate certificates in Methodology of Social Science and University Teaching, both at the University of Iceland.<\/p>\n<p>Upon returning from my studies in the US in 2003, I started working at the Centre for Gender Equality, first as a Project Manager and later as Deputy Director. From there I moved to the Institute of International Affairs at the University of Iceland and was its Director from 2006-2008. In 2005 I started teaching at the Faculty of Political Science, and have been a full-time member of the Faculty since 2008. I teach International Relations, US Politics, Foreign Policy Analysis and Negotiations, to name a few. My research interests are wide ranging, but include for example Icelandic Foreign and Security Policy, Reproductive Rights, Left-Wing Politics. I approach my research and teaching from a feminist perspective.
