Solveig - Intro
Hello. My name is Sólveig Jakobsdóttir. I am an associate professor at University of Iceland (http://uni.hi.is/soljak) and am currently teaching the course ICT in education and school development and I also teach a course on distance and online learning. I just registered for the MOOC course Open Online Experiences which will be running from September 2013 to May 2014. This I did for the following reasons. I think the course could be a good model to use for professional development of teachers in the use of technology in education. I will be referring Icelandic students and teachers to try it out. We might want to develop something similar here in Iceland. I was also a member last spring of a workgroup for my university where we looked at different types of MOOCs and how they could be relevant for our university. I am interested in trying out a connectivist MOOC as a student.
