My name is S\u00f3lveig Jakobsd\u00f3ttir. I am an associate professor at University of Iceland (<a href=\"http:\/\/uni.hi.is\/soljak\">http:\/\/uni.hi.is\/soljak<\/a>)\u00a0 and am currently teaching the course ICT in education and school development and I also teach a course on distance and online learning. I just registered for the MOOC course <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ooe13.org\/\">Open Online Experiences <\/a>which will be running from September 2013 to May 2014. This I did for the following reasons. I think the course could be a good model to use for professional development of teachers in the use of technology in education.\u00a0 I will be referring Icelandic students and teachers to try it out. We might want to develop something similar here in Iceland. I was also a member last spring of a workgroup for my university where we looked at different types of\u00a0 MOOCs and how they could be relevant for our university.
