I have been involved in research on school leadership in Iceland for 25 years. I´m particularily interested in values and gender, how these constructs relate to leadership and their impact on the actions of leaders.
I´m a board member in two active research centers, Center for Research in Educational Leadership and Program Evaluation, http://stofnanir.hi.is/stjornun-nyskopun-mat and Center for Research on Equality, Gender and Education, http://stofnanir.hi.is/rannkyn/
I chaired the Icelandic Educational Research Association (IERA) in 2008-2012. The Association publishes the Journal of Educational Research once a year in collaboration with the University of Iceland Press: http://fum.is/?page_id=1010
For 15 years I´ve particiapated in ENIRDELM, European Network for Improving Research and Development in Educational Leadership and Management. In 2011 I chaired the network and organised the conference Education of School Leaders.The Ethical Dimension, in Iceland with my colleagues. I teach at the graduate level of the School of Education, University of Iceland. My main areas of interest and expertise are leadership and management, gender, values and leadership.
