  • About Me:

    I have been a faculty member in the Department of English, Faculty of Languages and Cultures, University of Iceland since 2010. I teach courses in British literature, including Scottish literature, historical fiction, 19th century fiction and more. My main research interests are in the field of contemporary Scottish literature and historical fiction and film.

    Recent and ongoing projects include: the popularity of the Tudors in fiction and film; representations of Mary Queen of Scots in fiction and film; the twenty-first century Scottish historical novel in relation to the 2014 Independence Referendum; 21st century Scottish women's fiction; and representations of the North in historical fiction.
