The research focus of the group is in the area of inorganic and bioinorganic chemistry; synthesis, mechanistic studies, and catalysis in transformation of CO2, and sulfur atom transfer. Currently, there are three active projects in the laboratory.

  • Use of molybdenum sulfur complexes and study of the mechanism of sulfur transfer reactions from thiosulfate to cyanide. Study of interaction of cytochrome c oxidase with molybdenum complexes in vitro and in vivo. Biological properties of putative antidotes for cyanide poisoning.
  • Synthesis and properties of novel catalysts for copolymerization of polar monomers with olefins.
  • Sulfur transfer catalysis and copolymerization reactions to form sulfur rich copolymers.
