About myself

I was born in Fljót in Skagafjordur in North-Iceland in 1953. I finished matriculation examen from Menntaskólinn við Tjörnina in 1973 and BEd from The Icelandic University of Educatin in  1978.

I was a compulsory school teacher from 1978 - 2005 at Ásaskóli, later called Gnúpverjaskóli, then Brautarholts- og Gnúpverjaskóli and is now called Þjórsárskóli.

I was on the board of The Teachers Union of South-Iceland for a few years, on the board of ITC Jóra in Selfoss, the president of FÍKNF (The association of Icelandic Innovation and entrepreneurial teachers) and on the board of The Association of doctoral students in The Iceland University of Educastion.
I finished my masters degree in pedagogy and education from the University of Iceland in  2005 with the research project The emergece of a new school subject. Innovation educastion in compuslory schools.

I finished my PhD from The University of Iceland School of Education in 2011 and my research is called  The location of innovation education in Icelandic compulsory schools.
I am married to Valdimar Jóhannsson farmer at  Stóri-Núpur in Gnúpverjahreppur and we have five children, Jóhann, Bryndís, Anna Sigríður, Jón Einar og Auður Gróa and four grandsons, Valdimar, ívar Dagur, Kristófer Logi and one unnamed.
