Professional profile

I am a professor in Educational Studies at the School of Education, University of Iceland.  My research focus has been on distance and blended learning in in teacher education and upper secondary schools. Recently I have researched the conception and development of a new school in the Icelandic countryside and the development of upper secondary schools in rural Iceland by networking with ICT.

In my research I have mainly used Cultural-Historical and Activity Theory and the sociological theories of Basil Bernstein.
