About me

I completed my PhD in Educational Psychology/Teaching and Learning from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. I am an Assistant Professor and a Director for the Development of Teaching and Learning at the School of Health Sciences and an Educational Adviser at the the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Iceland. My work involves several projects concerning faculty development, teaching workshops, and providing personal advice to teachers as well as conducting research on teaching strategies, assessment, and motivation. Additionally, I work together with teams of like-minded researchers, e.g., at Virginia Tech, East Carolina University, and University of Notres Dame in the USA, and University of Dundee in Scotland. Additionally, I work as an advisor for masters theses and doctoral dissertations.

Ég lauk doktorsprófi í námssálarfræði og kennslufræði frá Virginia Tech háskólanum í Bandaríkjunum. Ég hef starfað sem lektor og kennsluþróunarstjóri hjá Heilbrigðisvísindasviði og hjá Kennslumiðstöð Háskóla Íslands síðan í ársbyrjun 2016. Starf mitt byggist á ýmsum verkefnum tengdum kennsluþróun, námskeiðahaldi og persónulegri ráðgjöf til kennara HVS ásamt rannsóknum á kennsluháttum, áhugahvöt og fleiru. Ég starfa sömuleiðis að rannsóknum í samstarfi við prófessora í Virginia Tech, East Carolina University, og University of Notre Dame í Bandaríkjunum, ásamt University of Dundee í Skotlandi. Auk þessa leiðbeini ég við meistara- og doktorsritgerðir.
